Common questions

What does AMPL actually help with?

Most people arrive with something they have noticed: work taking too long, systems becoming difficult to manage, or an important initiative that needs attention. Our first job is to understand what is happening and help you pin down the problem.

We help in four main areas:

  • Improving how your work runs.
  • Finding useful applications for automation and AI.
  • Improving and modernizing your technology, including opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Planning, delivering, or getting important projects and initiatives back on track.
Do I need to know what I need?

No. Describe the problem in your own words. A first conversation is for exactly that.

We don't have an IT department. Can you still help?

Yes. We explain the options in plain language and help put systems and working arrangements in place that your team can manage. We can also provide part-time IT leadership, helping you make technology decisions, plan improvements, and coordinate technical support.

Does every engagement involve AI?

No. The work might involve improving a process, modernizing a system, connecting existing tools, or managing a project. AI and automation are part of the range of support available.

Can you help with a project that's already stalled?

Yes. We look at where it stands, what is holding it up, and what needs to happen next. Then we help you put a practical plan in place and get the work moving.

Do you work remotely or in person?

We work remotely with businesses across Canada. In-person meetings and site visits are also available in Ottawa and the surrounding National Capital Region.

What happens in a first conversation?

It is a relaxed conversation to get to know each other, learn about your business, and understand what brought you here. You tell us what is on your mind, we ask questions, and together we begin to build a picture of what is happening and where to start.

What if the work needs specialist skills?

We draw on a network of experienced professionals built through work in the private and public sectors, including trusted technical specialists for more complex assignments.

For each engagement, we agree who needs to be involved, what they will do, and how the work will be coordinated.

Do you sell software or take commissions?

No. AMPL does not sell or resell software, represent software vendors, or receive commissions or referral fees for recommendations. Our advice is based on your business needs.
